Telecommunications Engineer CDR Report Sample
The Competency Demonstration Report Sample for Telecommunication Engineer includes all the necessary reports such as Three Career Episodes, Continuing Professional Development and Summary Statement. The Content of the Telecommunication Engineer CDR Report Sample is as follow:
Telecommunication Engineer Career Episode Report 1
Project Name: “Design of a CPW Fed Compact Super Wide Band Antenna”
Introduction: In first career episode, the author describes the project he did when he wasin the final year of bachelor’s degree. This career episode is based on his project named as; “Design of a CPW Fed Compact Super Wide Band Antenna”.
Background: The project involved designing a Super Wide Band Antenna that is compact in size, and the patch shape is oval. An Ultra-Wide Band Antenna has been used as a sample to design the compact Super Wide Band Antenna. The analysis of the designed antenna shows that it can be operated in the wide range of frequencies and can be used in the near future in supporting communication system that has a high data rate.
During the time, the responsibilities of the author were to:
- Prepared the plan of the design of a compact super wideband antenna which has a gain of less than -10dB and which can transmit signal at a frequency of more than 30 GHz
- Identified an antenna by studying numerous literature that can be used as sample in order to design the proposed antenna
- Designed and re-designed the patch shape of the antenna until the desired result has been achieved
- Designed and re-designed the ground plane of the antenna so that it can be compact in size compared to the sample antenna and enhances the antenna performance
- Simulation of the designed antenna to find out the characteristics and nature of the antenna
Telecommunication Engineer Career Episode Report 2
Project Name: “Implementation and Integration of SigComp with Asterisk Server”
Introduction: In second career episode, the author explains the engineering skills he used when he wascompleting his degree in Telecommunication Engineering. This career episode is based on his project named as; “Implementation and Integration of SigComp with Asterisk Server”.
Background: In the present project, SIP was extended to perform better and efficiently in wireless mediums. According to the SigComp standards, the author implemented the mechanisms of compression and decompression and performed integration using Asterisk server. He designed an enabled client for SigComp to execute with Asterisk and performed a series of experiments on the designed program to check the extent of compression in this project. The maximum amount of compression was obtained using Deflate and SigComp compression algorithm. It was proved that SIP protocol worked more efficiently in wireless medium and reduced the establishment time of the connection.
During the time, the responsibilities of the author were to:
- Prepared a project proposal and explained the project aims and scope to the other members
- Devised a project plan and schedule and got it approved
- Advised the members to follow the prepared schedule with punctuality to complete the project within the minimum time
- Configured and designed the systems and performed experimentation to verify the output
- Designed coding algorithms and implemented them in the project
Telecommunication Engineer Career Episode Report 3
Project Name: “Secure Communication SWiPT Networks”
Introduction: In third career episode, the author explains the engineering skills he used when he wascompleting his bachelor’s in Telecommunication Engineering. This career episode is based on his project named as; “Secure Communication SWiPT Networks”.
Background: The objective of this project was to mitigate the problem of information leakage by employing the method of convex optimization. Many methods have been proposed for solving the problem of secrecy and cost management in communication systems. Some of these are Karush–Kuhn–Tucker conditions (KKT), Semi-Definite Programming (SDP), one-dimensional search, and Dual Problem of Lagrangian. This project also aimed at calculating the secrecy rate for the varied amount of transmission antennas at a given power.
During the time, the responsibilities of the author were to:
- Carried out a detailed literature survey to study widespread techniques of secure communication protocols
- Studied different methods of establishing secure network systems and explained the pros and cons of each design
- Prepared a timeline for successful completion of each task
- Divided the workload equally to ensure maximum contribution by all the members
- Assisted and supervised my teammates to make sure the work was executed with perfection
Telecommunication Engineer Summary Statement
In his summary statement the author presents all the competency elements required for Professional Telecommunication Engineer. There are cross references in the summary statement to the relevant paragraph of the episodes, as explained in the Engineers Australia migration skills assessment booklet. His Summary Statement is in complete accordance with the today’s requirements of the Engineers Australia.
